Please note that Slumber Falls Camp can be accessed even when River Road is closed just past the Shell Station due to flooding of Blieders Creek.
Due to locally heavy rains, River Road is occasionally currently closed at Blieders Creek which is just past the Shell Station at Loop 337.
There is an alternate route to the camp which will allow you access with normal vehicles. Please note that the route is via Gruene Road just off of Loop 337. You will encounter a Road Closed Sign at Gruene Road and Rock Street but this refers to the Gruene River bridge being closed. You will need to by pass this sign to access Ervinburg Road where you will turn left. Ervinburg Road will go under a railroad trestle and there is likely to be runoff water there but it never gets more than 6" deep at that point. Ervinburg road will dead end at Edwards where you will turn left. Edwards will dead end at River Road but you will be on the other side of Blieders Creek. At River Road you will turn right and follow the normal path to camp.
