2008 Volunteer Staff Application Process

We are always happy to have folks who want to be involved as volunteer staff with our summer camping program. Please read the job description for the position in which you want to serve. These are available on our web site or can be gotten from our office.

To apply for a position, please follow the directions outlined below.  

  1. The first step is to fill out a Volunteer Staff Application. These can be downloaded off of our web site in  (pdf)  format by clicking the appropriate link below or you can contact the office to receive one by email or regular mail. You will need to complete the form and then mail it back. Please note that the application is 7 pages and includes all of the important forms that are required. Those forms are listed below:

·        Basic contact info

·        Volunteer position requested

·        Availability of schedule to serve

·        Prior experience and history questions

·        Signature of covenant

·        Camp Policy Form with signature (also signed by parent or legal guardian if under 18.

·        Two Reference Forms to be completed and returned

·        Background check release and info form

  1. The office will qualify your application by establishing that you have met the following requirements:

·        Counselors must be 18 years of age

·        CITs must be registered campers and a minimum of age 14 as well as two years older than the age of the oldest camper for for the camp they want to serve

·        All forms have been signed and received

·        Both reference forms have been received

·        Background check and Sex Offender Database check has been performed

  1. Your name and contact information will then be forwarded to the Director of the camp or camps for which you are available. Please note that the Director for each camp has the final decision in the selection of staff. You are selected only when you have been contacted by the Director and the staff is finalized for that week of camp.
     
  2. New for 2008: All staff are required to complete a Health History Form  Download the Health History Form
  3. New for 2008: There is a mandatory staff training which will be offered by the camp. Make plans to attend the staff meeting at camp on the Saturday prior to the start of the camp in which you are serving. The Director will let you know the time of the meeting.
